One Step Closer to Cruising

The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued an industry-wide framework for cruises to begin sailing again. This is a positive and important step toward allowing cruise lines to demonstrate how their new health and safety protocols will make cruising one of the safest vacation options.

There is still a lot the cruise lines are working through, and they're committed to taking the time to do things right. This includes training their crew on new guidelines, and conducting trial sailings before welcoming guests back on board.

Cruising with confidence means that your Vacation Specialist is here for you before, during and after your vacation. With our Cruise Fare Watch tool, we automatically monitor the price of your cruise and are alerted if the price drops so we can look into saving you money or getting you an upgrade.

CRUISING CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE SAFEST WAYS TO TRAVEL

The cruise lines have spent many months working with leaders in public safety, biosecurity, epidemiology, hospitality, and maritime operations to create a plan for the safe return of cruising. Their recommendations have been adopted by the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) as the blueprint to follow for the global cruising community. The cruise industry has become the first in the travel sector to commit to 100% testing of passengers and crew worldwide.

New health and safety measures you can expect include:

  • 100% testing of all passengers and crew, and a negative COVID-19 test result mandated before boarding
  • Enhanced sanitation and ventilation upgrades, and masks in use when social distancing isn't possible
  • Additional medical facilities, equipment, and staff on board

A different – but still fun – cruise experience:
While health and safety is the top priority, your cruise experience should still be fun! The cruise lines are also working hard to ensure you can enjoy the same experiences, just in a modified way.

Some modifications you can expect include:

  • Reduced capacity on board and inside specific venues (less crowds!)
  • Shore excursions run by the cruise line (to limit exposure to third parties)
  • Served buffets (who doesn't like to be served?)
  • Virtual muster drills (so much better than before!)

In addition, we know our customers have questions about their upcoming cruise and want to share the latest cruise line policy updates that provide options and flexibility should you want to reschedule your vacation. Check back for the latest Coronavirus Updates and Advisories as they become available.

In an abundance of caution, there have been several voluntary travel suspensions and port closures. Many cruise lines have increased their safety protocols with health screenings and travel history precautions. Please contact your Vacation Specialist who can help keep you informed with important travel information.

Celebrity Cruises

Cruise with Confidence

As we continue to focus on the healthy and safe return to cruising for guests, crew and the communities we visit, we are working closely with our sister brands at Royal Caribbean Group and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as government authorities around the world toward our shared goal. In order to return in the best way possible, we continue to extend the suspension of certain Celebrity Cruises sailings. In brief, Celebrity Cruises will be suspending sailings through April 30, 2021 including the May 1, 2021 transatlantic cruise on Celebrity Apex. As well, May through October 2021 Europe and transatlantic cruises on Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Constellation will also be suspended.

  • All booked guests will automatically receive a 125% Future Cruise Credit (FCC) valid until December 31st, 2021, for use on sailings through May 4th, 2022.
  • The value of the FCC will be calculated based on amounts paid toward the cruise and will be processed by November 30th, 2020 via email.

Crystal Cruises

Ocean, Yacht and Expedition Cruises

Regrettably, Crystal has extended its suspension of cruises until the end of December due to the ongoing uncertain travel environment. In the meantime, we are proactively planning for the day we can sail again.

  • All voyages aboard Crystal Serenity with departures through April and into May 2021 have been cancelled.
  • All voyages aboard Crystal Symphony with departures through May 2021 have been cancelled.
  • All yacht voyages sailing on Crystal Esprit are cancelled through April 2021.
  • The 2021 World Cruise has also been cancelled.

River Cruises

Like all travel enthusiasts, we are eagerly anticipating the day we can return to sailing the world again and welcome our guests back aboard. Unfortunately, the pandemic caused by Covid-19, coupled with differing restrictions regarding entry into the European Union (EU), continues to impact when and where this can happen. Given the continued uncertainty surrounding this global health crisis, it is with regret that we have had to cancel all River voyages aboard Crystal Bach, Crystal Debussy, Crystal Mahler, and Crystal Ravel through April 2021.

We sincerely apologize for this disruption to our guests' travels and invite them to consider rescheduling their cruise with the two options shared here representing added value, choice and flexibility:

  • 2020 to 2021 River Rollover
Move their current 2020 reservation, including all payments made, to an equivalent sailing during the same time period in 2021, with price protection on the cruise fare and port charges – representing a significant value for them.

    OR
  • Reservation Transfer
If a guest chooses not to rollover their cruise to a 2021 river sailing, they may transfer their reservation to any Crystal experience (Ocean, River, Yacht or Expedition) embarking through December 31, 2023 at prevailing rates. All monies paid will be transferred to the new reservation.

If any guests do not elect an option by August 14, 2020, we will automatically issue a Future Credit, equal to 100% of the cruise fare paid, valid on any Crystal experience (Ocean, River, Yacht or Expedition) embarking through December 31, 2023 – along with a refund of port charges, taxes and fees paid, and any air and hotel packages booked through Crystal.

RIVER ROLLOVER: An equivalent sailing is defined as a 2021 voyage on the same river, of the same duration, in the same room category and as listed on our equivalent sailing list. This offer is valid through August 14, 2020.

FUTURE CRUISE CREDIT is issued as a Future Cruise Payment (FCP) representing the cruise fare paid and may be applied to multiple future bookings and may be used towards deposit requirement on their new booking. Future Credits are redeemable through December 31, 2023. Once Credits are issued, they are not eligible for a refund.

Princess Cruises

As we continue to review and understand the implications of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) "Framework for Conditional Sailing Order" for resumption of U.S. cruise operations, we have made the decision to extend our pause in cruise operations due to a temporary seven-day limit on itineraries that touch a U.S. port and the estimated preparation time needed for completing required activities prior to resuming our operations. As a result, we have cancelled the following cruises:

  • All cruises sailing through May 14, 2021
  • All cruises longer than seven days sailing in and out of United States ports through November 1, 2021

Royal Caribbean International

Cruise with Confidence

We are working diligently to review our plan and to ensure a safe and calculated operational return. We continue the planning and preparation necessary to ensure a healthy and safe return to service; however, we aren’t quite there yet and require a little extra time. Due to this, the decision has been made to extend our sailing suspension through April 30, 2021, inclusive of the following:

  • Transatlantic Sailing: Freedom of the Seas May 2, 2021
  • Transatlantic Sailing: Ovation of the Seas May 7, 2021
  • China Sailings: Spectrum of the Seas February 16-28, 2021
  • Quantum of the Seas Singapore sailings are unimpacted and are excluded from this suspension announcement

Royal Caribbean has temporarily ceased the sale of new bookings for cruises longer than 7 nights between Jan. 1 and Nov. 1, 2021 pending further clarification from the CDC.

As we continue to evaluate our return to service landscape, we are exploring a variety of scenarios at-hand to establish our best path forward. With this in mind, the decision has been made to cancel the 2021 Quantum of the Seas Alaska season, as well as the surrounding Transpacific sailings - encompassing departures between April 25 through October 14, 2021. Instead, during this time, Quantum of the Seas will remain in the South Pacific region.

Royal Caribbean wants to ease the vacation planning hesitation by providing additional reassurance and flexibility. We've made the decision to extend our popular Cruise with Confidence policy to allow cancelations up to 48-hours prior to sailing in exchange for a 100% Future Cruise Credit when booking on or before January 31, 2021 for sailings through April 30, 2022. That's an additional two months of comfort and security.
